Your first trade journal
Add your trades, record your observations, and save a review you can return to.
1. Add the right account
- Open Settings and add a trading account with the currency used on your broker statement.
- Open Trades, then Import. Choose the matching account, source and broker server timezone, and upload your full history.
- Check rejected rows, affected trades and net P&L against your statement. Deposits are cash movements, not trading profit. Executions are fills; several fills can belong to one trade.
A detected report currency mismatch blocks the import. CSV and reports without currency metadata rely on your account selection; no currency conversion is performed.
2. Add a trade manually
Under Trades, choose the action to add a trade. Select its account, instrument, direction, entry time, price and size. For a closed trade, also enter the exit details. Enter gross P&L separately from costs, then save the trade.
Manual trade times use your profile timezone. Imported timestamps use the broker server timezone chosen during import.
3. Write and save your journal
- Open a trade under Trades. Add your setup, mood, confidence, plan adherence and any mistake tags that explain your decisions.
- Write your observations in Notes. Save each edited section separately and wait for Saved. Changes are not saved automatically when you navigate away.
- Add a screenshot in Charts if it helps explain the trade. You can reopen the trade later to edit your notes and ratings.
Saving journal information marks the trade as journaled. Imported execution values are read-only; your journal observations remain editable.
4. Review and correct
Use the review queue to journal several trades. Skipping leaves a trade for later. A failed save needs to be retried before leaving the page.
An identical report upload does not create duplicate executions or replace saved notes. Upload full history when positions change. Conflicting history stops the import; contact support before undoing an import, which can delete journal content.
The main numbers
Net P&L is gross trading profit plus signed commission, swap and fees. Deposits and withdrawals are excluded from trading profit.
R compares net P&L with the risk amount recorded for the trade: a 50 profit with 25 risk is +2R. It is unavailable without a valid risk amount.
MAE is the furthest the market moved against the trade while it was open; MFE is the furthest it moved in its favour. These need price-history data and can be unavailable for report uploads.
